Yash Mehndiratta, MD, DABSM (Medical Director / Board-Certified Sleep Physician)

"I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine when I was in the 9th grade. There were several physicians in my family and my father, who was a family practitioner, greatly influenced my decision to follow their footsteps. I enjoyed visiting his office while growing up and hearing him talk about how much he liked his job. "Today, I am proud to offer my patients over 15 years of clinical experience in sleep medicine and neurology. I use the latest diagnostic and treatment methods to help people of all ages enjoy improved sleep and improved overall health and wellness. Equally important, I provide my patients with the uncompromising care they want and deserve. They can count on friendly, unhurried and highly informative care... every step of the way. It's the same level of care I would want for myself and my own family members."

Mahadevappa K. Hunasikatti, MD (Board-Certified Sleep Physician)

"I became a doctor because I wanted to be able to care for patients in Hindu Missionary hospitals in India. I made the decision to specialize in sleep medicine and pulmonology because the prospect of helping people overcome their sleep disorders and manage their asthma and other related conditions seemed very rewarding to me. Not only can this improve their health, it can improve their quality of life in ways they never thought possible. "I am proud to offer my patients the diagnostic and clinical capabilities they can feel confident in along with the friendly, personalized care they deserve. I take the time to explain their condition and any recommended treatment in simple, easy- to-understand terms so they are completely informed and confident with their care."

Kenneth Bergman, Jr., MD (Board-Certified Sleep Physician)

"Both my father and grandfather were U.S. Army physicians, and after I graduated from college I became convinced that this was my destiny as well.  I attended Georgetown University school of Medicine on an Army scholarship.  While in the military I got married and was blessed with three beautiful daughters.  I did not want them to have to adjust to a new environment every few years, so I left the Army and entered into private practice.  Three years ago I returned to Northern Virginia which was my home for 30 years. My girls will now be able to grow up in the same area that I enjoyed as a youth.

I became board certified in Otolaryngology in 2003 and was surprised at how many ENT patients also had sleep disorders.  This sparked a desire to learn more about sleep medicine, so I continued my studies which culminated in a second board certification in Sleep Medicine.  By being able to offer both surgical and medical treatment of sleep apnea, I can give a comprehensive perspective on different treatment options"

Rashid Nayyar, MD (Board-Certified Sleep Physician)

"My father, my grandfather, and several of my uncle's are physicians. This is why I was inspired and interested in becoming a physician, even when I was in high school. It was during my residency when I became interested in sleep medicine. After my residency I did a fellowship in pulmonary critical care medicine and sleep medicine. Learning about sleep disorders, diagnosing and treating them were fascinating to me. I continue to be fascinated and have been practicing in Northern Virginia since 2001.
Sleep medicine has been a major part of my medical career."
